Become a HBCUFI Mentor
The goal of The HBCU Founders Initiative, powered by Nex Cubed, is to inspire students and recent alumni at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to pursue entrepreneurship related to key social determinants including real estate, education, financial services, and digital health - areas in desperate need of systemic reform that technology can help enable.
We are asking mentors to volunteer with HBCU students/alumni to help them develop their business concepts and pitches.
Volunteer opportunities for the 2022-2023 program year will include:
Serving as an advisor for HBCU startup teams
Hosting periodic mentor office hours to answer questions from HBCU startups related to your expertise
Participating in speed mentoring events, meeting with several HBCU startups over a couple of hours
Reviewing and providing feedback on HBCU startups’ investor pitch decks
Joining one-day HBCU student hackathon events, helping participants flesh out business ideas
