About the Pitch Competition

In partnership with AARP Innovation Labs, Mastercard, and Franklin Templeton, The HBCU Founders Initiative is hosting the Cultivate Pitch Competition: Closing the Wealth Gap. The virtual event taking place on November 12th targets Pre-Seed and Seed Stage companies aimed at reducing race, gender and/or generational wealth and income gap disparities.

  • 1st Place: $15k in non-dilutive funds.

  • 2nd Place: $5k in non-dilutive funds.

  • People’s Choice: AARP Innovation Labs, Cultivate Fellowship - One pitch competition finalist will have an opportunity to secure a fellowship with AARP Innovation Labs. The three month fellowship valued at up to $25K will equip the winner with mentorship, coaching, tools, and resources to validate and /or take their concept to the next level.
